Motion text messages
Last updated October 19, 2026. Motion Holding Partners, Inc. (“Motion”) sends text messages to people who give us their mobile number.
What we send
- Sign-in codes, when you sign in with your phone number (sent by Twilio Verify, only when you ask for one).
- Your tickets and passes, and updates about what you bought or were sent: transfers, refunds, a night that changes or is cancelled.
- Messages from the hosts of an event you're going to (you have a ticket, a table, or a spot on its guest list), sent through Motion: doors, set times, last calls, photos. Hosts can only message the people going to their own event, up to two days after it ends.
How you agree
You agree to texts from Motion when you sign in with your number: the sign-in screen on the website (the sign-in page and every event's checkout) says, right above the button, that by continuing you agree to get texts from Motion: your sign-in code, your tickets, and updates about events you're going to, including from their hosts. You can also turn Texts from Motion on or off in Settings. Replying STOP stops our texts and you can keep using Motion; signing in again doesn't turn them back on. At a coat check, giving your number to get your coat-check text is your opt-in for that text. We record when and where you agreed. Replying STOP never affects your tickets or your account.
You can opt out any time: reply STOP to any text, or turn off Texts from Motion in Settings.
How often
Message frequency varies with what you do on Motion and the events you're going to. Message and data rates may apply.
Stop or get help
Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts from Motion; we'll confirm with one last message and send no more. Reply START to receive them again. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@themotion.party. You can also turn off messages from event hosts in Settings. Sign-in codes stop if you reply STOP, so to sign in again reply START first.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your number and your privacy
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number, or your agreement to receive texts, with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the providers that deliver our messages (such as Twilio) and only to deliver them. See our privacy policy and terms.
